Police began searching for the man after a gunpoint robbery was reported Sunday afternoon at the Family Dollar Store in the 100 block of West First Avenue, according to the Parkesburg Police Department. Police said the man entered the store and demanded money at gunpoint before fleeing in a dark colored pickup truck.
No injuries were reported after Sunday’s robbery.
On Tuesday Parkesburg Police Chief Brian Sheller said borough investigators were working with other law enforcement agencies to explore a potential connection to similar activity in New Jersey, Maryland, Virgina and Delaware. The suspect is armed and considered extremely dangerous, Sheller said.
Investigators also released a composite sketch of the suspect, who was described as a white man in his 40s who stands about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs about 160 pounds and has bright blue eyes. The suspect speaks with a southern accent, police said.
