Congressman Joe Pitts (R-PA), chairman of the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, is praising the release of the new American Health Care Reform Act from Congressman Phil Roe, M.D. (R-TN). This bill fully repeals the failed Affordable Care Act and replaces it with a set of solutions focused on reducing costs and expanding access to quality health care.
Congressman Pitts’ statement follows:
“With the introduction of the American Health Care Reform Act, Dr. Roe is advancing good ideas to help the many Americans desperately seeking quality health coverage at an affordable price.
“Democrats frame the debate over reforming health care as a choice between empowering government or doing nothing. That’s simply not true. Republicans have a long history of advancing smart, free market solutions that help people get the care they need.
“As Obamacare rolls forward with a massive new expansion of government bureaucracy, Republicans are going to forcefully make the case that there is a better way. I encourage all of my colleagues to take a close look at the solutions offered by Dr. Roe and work with him to strengthen and advance this bill.”
