Christiana man struck by Amtrak train dies; ruled suicide
A Christiana man struck by an Amtrak train near the Parkesburg station in Chester County on June 21 has died, an official said.
Jason Whisman, 34, died of multiple traumatic injuries, and his death was ruled a suicide, Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni said Thursday.
Whisman had been in critical condition at Lancaster General Hospital since the day he was struck, a hospital spokeswoman reported. He died there Wednesday.
No passengers or crew members on the 640 Keystone line were injured in the 5:55 a.m. crash, Amtrak spokesman Craig Schulz said.
