PARKESBURG — A 34-year-old man was stuck by a train around 5:55 a.m. Friday morning just west of Parkesburg Station, according to an Amtrak spokesperson.

Amtrak spokesperson Greg Shulz said the man was trespassing on the tracks when he was struck by a Keystone train carrying passengers between Harrisburg and New York. The victim was transported to Lancaster General Hospital. There was no word on his condition.

Shulz said there were 34 passengers on the train at the time of the incident. No one on board was injured. The train was delayed for about an hour and 40 minutes while investigators probed the cause of the incident.

Passengers waiting for the train in Philadelphia were placed on a Northeast Regional train and were not delayed Shulz said.

The incident remains under investigation.
